Company Celebrates with Charity Donation
RICHMOND, Va. (September 26, 2013) – CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, officially opened its first store in Jackson, TN, located at 1477 Vann Drive. The store is more than 8,400 square-feet, occupies approximately five acres, employs approximately 20 associates and stocks approximately 150 used vehicles of most makes and models.
In celebration of the Jackson store opening, CarMax is donating $2,500 to the local nonprofit Area Relief Ministries. The charity was selected for its positive impact on the local community.
“CarMax is privileged to honor Area Relief Ministries for making a difference in the area of our new store,” said David Peach, location general manager of the Jackson CarMax. “We take pride in being a positive part of our community as well, while providing a unique car buying experience at the same time.”
CarMax opened its first store in Richmond, Va. 20 years ago after the company
surveyed thousands of consumers to find out what they liked and disliked about car shopping. CarMax was designed according to the survey responses, giving consumers what they asked for:
