Company Celebrates with “Road Rally” for Charity Event
RICHMOND, Va. (May 16, 2013) - CarMax, Inc., (NYSE: KMX), the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, officially opened its first store in Savannah, Georgia. The store, located at 8989 Abercorn St., is more than 20,000 square-feet and stocks about 250 used vehicles of nearly every make and model.
“Georgia has proven to be a great home to CarMax, and we are excited about our newest store,” said Tom Folliard, president and CEO of CarMax. “Our Savannah store will provide customers with the same exceptional service and unique car buying experience that is easy, fun and hassle free.”
Local dignitaries and CarMax associates attended a grand opening event at the new Savannah location today. The event included a “Road Rally” for charity featuring local television personalities competing in contests, which included parallel-parking and pack-the-trunk events. CarMax donated $1,000 to each participant’s charity, and the winner’s charity received an additional $1,000.
The CarMax Road Rally participants and their charity of choice included Savannah’s WTOC
Traffic Tracker Jamie Ertle sponsoring Savannah/Chatham CASA, WSAV “The Southern Scene” host Natalie Hendrix for Park Place Outreach, WJCL Meteorologist Cassidy Lance supporting The Humane Society for Greater Savannah and WTGS Sports Reporter Frank Sulkowski for First Tee of Savannah.

- The “trade-in,” a written offer good for seven days whether or not the customer buys a car from CarMax
Broad Selection
- Nearly every make and model (both domestic and import used vehicles)
- Used vehicles that are generally one to six years old with fewer than 60,000 miles
