Announcing New Carmax.com Email Alert Feature

RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar. 24, 2009-- CarMax, Inc. (NYSE: KMX), the nation’s largest retailer of used cars, announces the new Email Alert feature on carmax.com. This option provides customers with more control and flexibility during their online car shopping experience. The new feature allows customers to receive emails when specific vehicles they are searching for become available in the CarMax inventory. Consumers can receive the notifications in real-time, since the vehicle inventory on carmax.com is updated multiple times per day.

Carmax.com’s Email Alert options include:

  • Ability to select as many features as desired for finding the perfect car
  • Option to receive emails in real-time throughout the day, or just as a once-a-day summary
  • Notification of a price reduction or change in your saved vehicle’s availability

“The new Email Alert allows car shoppers to essentially ‘place an order’ for their perfect used car, and let CarMax do the shopping for them,” said Ann Yauger , director of carmax.com. “It helps shoppers save time, and with the option of real-time alerts, they can be assured they’ll be among the first to know when a car they’re looking for becomes available.”

To access carmax.com’s improved Email Alert feature, visit http://www.carmax.com, begin a vehicle search and click the “Create Email Alert” button.

The CarMax website can be used to research information on new and used cars of various makes and models. The website showcases vehicles with multiple photos, the no-haggle price, and information on features, options, fuel economy and customer reviews.
