Advanced Search Offers New Way to Search CarMax's Thousands of Vehicles Online
RICHMOND, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 20, 2009--CarMax, Inc. (NYSE:KMX), the nation's largest retailer of used
cars, recently announced the availability of an Advanced Search tool
on carmax.com.
The new, optional Advanced Search is for the car shopper who wants to
enter multiple criteria into one search right from the start. For
example, a shopper can select any combination of makes, features, colors
and more in one search field and watch as results update instantly.
Standard searches on carmax.com allow shoppers to begin with a broad set
of vehicles that then requires narrowing down the search. Now,
carmax.com satisfies the needs of all types of shoppers who approach
their online
car search in different ways.
"Our new Advanced Search offers a flexible, full-featured online vehicle
search experience like no other available on any online automotive
shopping site," said
Ann Yauger
, director of carmax.com. "By adding the
Advanced Search tool, we're helping to make the online car-shopping
process as quick and easy as possible for our customers to get the
results they want."
To access carmax.com's Advanced Search, simply visit http://www.carmax.com
and click the Advanced Search link in the top right corner. A car
shopper looking for both a Honda Accord and Toyota Camry in black or
silver with a sunroof and CD player, with fewer than 50,000 miles, and
less than $30,000 can use the Advanced Search feature to find all the
vehicles in CarMax's inventory matching those specific criteria within
one easy search.
The CarMax website can be used by online shoppers to research
information on vehicles of various makes and models within the company's
extensive inventory of new and used cars. The website showcases vehicles
with multiple photos, a no-haggle price, and information on features,
options, fuel
economy and customer
reviews. Visits to carmax.com continue to increase and approximately
70 percent of in-store customers visit the website before coming to the
store.
